Is Coaching Right For Me?

Let’s say you had a great chemistry session with a potential coach, you could see a lot of benefit in working with them, but now you’re stuck in indecision.

You’re thinking:

“It’s expensive. It’s a big investment. What will my spouse (or my boss) say? What if it’s not the right fit for me?”

I hear you. I’ve been in this space recently myself, and these are all really normal concerns.

Coaching does involve a significant investment, not only in terms of time and resources but also mental and emotional energy.

And it’s a very tender, personal choice, as you’ll be opening up your inner world to someone new. Yikes indeed!

Today I wanted to offer some coaching questions that you can ask yourself to determine whether coaching is right for you.

Questions to Ask Yourself

1️⃣ What sensations arise in my body and what thoughts enter my mind as I consider coaching?

  • Notice the cues your body provides – whether tightness or lightness, heaviness or brightness. And if you find there are fears cropping up, just note what they are without judgment.

2️⃣ Reflecting on past investments I’ve made in coaches / therapists / learning programs, what signs indicated that these were the right path for me?

  • Did you feel a sense of alignment and being truly seen? Was there any synchronicity / divine timing at play?

3️⃣ If I say yes to coaching, what am I saying a bigger yes to in my world and life?

  • Consider the broader implications of investing in yourself. What values are you honoring, and what impact do you hope to make?

4️⃣ What possibilities open up if I invest in myself in this way?

  • Envision the potential growth and transformation you seek. How could your work, relationships, and well-being flourish?

5️⃣ What's at stake if I don't pursue coaching?

  • Acknowledge the risks of staying where you are. What do you stand to lose by not taking this step towards growth and fulfillment?

6️⃣ What do I need to know, do, or say to move forward with confidence?

  • What additional information or reassurances do you need to proceed? Empower yourself to seek these! Any coach worth their salt will take the time to meet you where you’re at.

It’s a funny thing. Oftentimes, we need coaching in order to say yes to coaching.

If ever you want to talk about whether a particular coach or coaching program is a fit for you, I’m happy to be a sounding board and a resource about whether to take the leap. Just drop me a line!
